AuroraCast #07 - Electronic Music Producer preston.outatime

They say Brighton is full of creatives and we are starting to see just how true that is! A bit like Mike and Les... Mike and Preston also go back around 15 years, initially meeting while both working in the games industry in Brighton. While conducting these interviews during the COVID-19 lockdown, it felt only natural to get in touch with Preston to see how his music career is going and we were pleasantly surprised.

Preston creates Electronica, but to break it down you could call his music Instrumental, Downtempo, Electronic, Techno, Electronica, Breaks, IDM and more! His latest Release is Replanar (Remix Album) is fresh onto the shelves... Preston is an avid Ableton user and supporter of Bandcamp where you can pick up all his releases (there is actually a bit of a sale on his page as we type thing on the 1st May 2020). In this AuroraCast, he talks us through his approach, his setup, details some of his philosophies and gives us a ton of links to check out...

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank Preston for getting involved! Until next time buddy!

Michael W. Bell

Welcome

Michael W. Bell is an award-winning film music composer, ambient sound designer, sound engineer, record producer, and the CEO/Founder of Aurora Eclipse Productions Ltd. He has composed music and designed sound for a number of films, trailers, TV shows, documentaries, animations, commercials, companies, and more. In addition to his music work, he has produced and released records for a number of independent artists.

As a lifelong enthusiast in immersive sound and multidimensional art forms, Michael is currently interested to learn what potential we now have as musicians and producers to utilise Dolby Atmos from our personal computers, without the need for expensive monitoring systems and large spaces.

When not composing or producing music, Mike enjoys lecturing at the University of Northampton leading students through industry and production modules. He also creates videos and communicates to his peers via his Discord, YouTube, and Patreon channels. He can also be found hosting AuroraCast, his long-format podcast.
